As a family we didn't have many family holidays, we would have the odd weekend away, we did once go to Fuerteventura for a week. So this year we gatecrashed the sister-in-laws week away in sunny Devon, the kids and me only went for the weekend, but it was a lovely couple of days away from home.
Pete had already planned a couple of cycle routes so I had to make sure that I took my bike with me as this would be another opportunity for us to get some training in. The first route we headed south from our campsite in Dawlish and ended up in Torquay, a little further than we had planned but a nice hilly ride to get the legs working. On the second day we decided for a little bit of a more leisurely ride and headed North along the River Exe before arriving in Exeter, both days were about a 30-mile cycle, and the fitness level on my part seems to be getting better.
