Today is a hard day

Today is a hard day

Well, today was never going to be great by any stretch of the imagination. One year since Erin passed away and the house is so quiet, the kids have gone to school as they did not want to be sat at home. The dog is not walking about and keeps looking at the backdoor like he is waiting for Erin to walk back in. I can hear a couple of birds singing outside it is quite eerie, and there are buzzards flying high in the sky.

I am not sure how I have even couped a whole year without Erin here to help me look after the kids. She would always be the one to make sure that they were ready for school and have their pack lunches, now it was down to me to do all of this.

  • Do not stand at my grave and weep,
  • I am not there, I do not sleep.
  • I am a thousand winds that blow.
  • I am the diamond glint on snow.
  • I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
  • I am the gentle autumn rain.
  • When you wake in the morning hush,
  • I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
  • I am the soft starlight at night.
  • Do not stand at my grave and weep.
  • I am not there, I do not sleep.
  • Do not stand at my grave and cry
  • I am not there, I did not die
