It has been a while since I last updated my blog, I have been training hard when I can, and I have been updating part of the web site ready for the big day.
First of all, I want to thank everyone that has donated so far, at the time of writing I am now up to £520, which I am very humbled by as I never thought I would have got £100 so thank you very much. It is straight forward to donate; you can click on the Donate button and follow the instructions. Please remember that if you are a UK taxpayer to Gift aid your donation. By doing so, Marie Curie will get extra money at no additional cost to you.
You can also text YARD47 £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070. 100% of your donation will go to my Just Giving Page.
On the 17th I had got a new road bike, a lot lighter than the one I was borrowing. I decided to take it out for a 16-mile spin. On the 18th, Erin's sister and husband (Pete) came down to see the kids and me. Pete and I decided that we would go out on the same route as I did yesterday but just a little bit further this time.
A week later saw all four of "the team" go out for a 19-mile cycle to Hardy's monument. For people that do not know about Hardy's monument the hill up to the monument reaches 850 feet (260m) above sea level at its peak. It is the first time all four of us had ridden together, and it was a great time to work together to get each other up the hill.
During the rest of the week, I have been in the gym nearly every day for an hour. At the start of the year I was 100kg and with a lot of work I have lost 4kg which sees me back to my weight 4 years ago. I still have a little way to go as I would love to get down to 80kg by June 9th, but I am working on it.
